Camp montague

The farm is located on the western edge of the Pevensey Levels with views across its own grasslands to the sea. An 18th century complex of barns, courtyards and homes are the heart of farm activities, which remain principally determined by sheep and cattle.

The family have farmed here since 1942, when John Glessing purchased the then derelict site with 90 acres. 

Organic since 1998, a flock of Romney ewes and herd of cross-bred cows now graze in excess of 700 acres, benefitting from a progressive farm infrastructure. The family now open their home for Summer camps exclusively through TLTC (The London Tutor Company). 

A lucky group of 12, 8-14 year olds have the opportunity to spend 3 nights and 4 days exploring 700 acres, learning the importance of re-wilding and organic farming. Activities range from helping Romney identify birds and plants on the marsh, to tending Gundrada's giant vegetable garden. Of course it would not be a TLTC camp if we did not also include tuition classes of Maths, English, Art and Science. When our busy day is done, we will have chill out time before our delicious supper. Whether it is a swim in the swimming pool or a game of rounders on the green! When bellies are full, post supper games continue until it is time to check on the animals, have a hot cocoa by the campfire and finally snuggle in to bed for a well deserved sleep.

All our camp mentors are qualified teachers and are looking forward to teaching their lessons in barns, campside, in fields and on the beach. Very much a muddy knees policy for this camp, getting involved in every aspect of this welcoming family farm and making memories for a life time.

*All our camp mentors have DBS and background checks completed. Although fun is at the heart of everything we do, safeguarding is paramount. Both Montague Farm and The London Tutor Company provide insurance and a full risk assessment for every residential camp.
